Start the Term with a Night Gathering of Lantern Decorating

UG Halls VIII and IX kicked off the term with the first RM-led activity for this academic year. To welcome both new students and returning students, a series of ice-breaking games, a ‘Poon Choi’ dinner and a Lantern Decorating activity were held. Residents got a chance to meet their fellow hall mates, Residence Masters, Residential Life Officers, Organizing Team cores and tutors.

‘I enjoyed the event tonight! I love the Lantern Decorating session, it was really special and interesting.’ said by a resident of UG Hall VIII.

‘The session of Lantern Decorating is a good idea to let exchange students know more about Chinese culture. And we really appreciate our local residents. They were very helpful and tried their best to explain the traditional Chinese culture to non-local students. We can see that they enjoyed the event.’ An OT core said.

The orientation night was an excellent opportunity for non-local and exchange students to communicate and make friends with their local fellow students. It also lets residents know what exciting activities they will be having in the upcoming residential year.
