Getting into the Nature
Nothing is better than having a day trip in the beautiful nature of Hong Kong with hall mates in the middle of the term, away from homework and exams. Hall VI Living Learning Community (LLC) went to Hong Kong Global GeoPark of China in October to enjoy the nature.
LLC members took a boat trip to Sharp Island (Kiu Tsui Chau) and High Island, observing different geological landscape such as tompolo, sea caves and volcanic rocks.
Gaining geographical and historic knowledge
Mr Kenneth Yeung, Residential Life Officer of UG Hall VI, led the participants to see different natural landscape and shared somegeographical knowledge. Participants learnt the classification and formation of rocks and also geographic history in Sai Kung. We also visited the historic site, Tin Hau Temple on the High Island.
Besides obtaining knowledge, we also enjoyed hiking on the islands and swimming in the sea.
Some residents celebrated one of our members Karlie’s 19th birthday on the Pak Lap beach. Everyone had a healthy and meaningful trip and also relax their tension before the mid-term examinations in the natural environment.
LLC will continue to organize such event to raise students’ awareness in natural and cultural conservation.
