For Direct Entry: early July 2018 - mid July 2018 & early August 2018
For JUPAS: early August 2018

Local undergraduates are provided with at least 1 term of University housing in their Yr-1 at HKUST in the Fall or Spring Term as long as they submit their applications AND complete all required procedures by the deadlines which will be announced at later stage. Note that only a certain number of quotas shall be reserved for applicants with the highest one-way traveling time (TT) from home to HKUST who will be considered for a full-year University housing offer.
 
On the other hand, local undergraduates who (a) do not have home base in Hong Kong or (b) has to travel more than 2 hours from home to HKUST will be provided with Univeristy housing in their first 2 years of study in HKUST provided that they complete all requried procedures. Note that there are NO guaranteed residence afterwards and they shall be considered under the normal hall allocation mechnism (i.e. being admitted through the weighted lot drawing system oras an active member of a group). Students are advised to plan ahead in their accommodation arrangements; in any case that they wish to consider self-arranged off-campus accommodation near HKUST campus, they should expect to pay pay HK$5,000 to $7,000 per month.
 
Students may contact the University’s Off-Campus Housing Section for support in sourcing for off-campus accommodation in the private market.
 
  
First-Year Experience @ Residence Program (FYE)
 
The First-Year Experience @ Residence Program (FYE) is an exciting new initiative for first year HKUST undergraduate students. It is open to approximately 600 new students, local, mainland China and overseas. At the time when you receive your University housing information as a newly admitted non-local undergraduate student, you may elect to participate in this program.
