Hall Application Information for Residential Year 2017/18 (New Local UGs)
The following information for hall application applies to all new local UG students.
Students are advised to go through and study the UG Hall Allocation Policy and the following detailed information and be clear in the hall application before submitting an application.
Local students are provided with at least 1-term of student housing in Fall or Spring Term in their first year of study in HKUST. Such priority housing no longer applies after this round of application.
Students may as well refer to the information sheet (PDF) for a brief idea of the application arrangements.
Students who fail to complete in any of the required procedures (eg. application submission, acceptance of hall offer etc.) by deadlines shall not be further considered, including cancelation of hall offers if any.
First-Year Experience @ Residence Program (FYE)
The First-Year Experience @ Residence Program (FYE) is an exciting new initiative for first year HKUST undergraduate students. It is being piloted from 2017 with about 600 new students, locally from HK, mainland China and overseas.
Students are only required to submit the hall application in the way stipulated in below section and separate application for the FYE is not required. Students who were selected for the Program will be eligible for student housing with a duration of one year.
Provision of false / inaccurate information may lead to disqualification and cancelation of the hall applications and associated offers and further disciplinary actions.
Application is only available for once a year and there will not be new round of applications for student accommodation for 2017/18; students who wish to apply for any residential periods in 2017/18 (eg. Spring Term 2018 only) or have unconfirmed plans yet shall consider submitting the application form within the announced application period.
Applications are not on first-come-first-serve basis; all applications received during the application period are processed together.
Online system for applications and acceptance of hall offers shuts down sharply after deadline; any actions on submission of application / acceptance form could not be recorded by the system after the system shuts down.
Only application / acceptance forms successfully recorded in the online system will be considered and processed.
Upon successful submission of application / acceptance form in the online system, an acknowledgement email will be sent to the email address(es) provided by the applicant; those who do not receive an acknowledgement email may consider submission of form NOT successful (e.g. late submission, etc.).
