Organizing Team at UG Halls VIII & IX
The Organizing Team (OT) is a resident-elected body of UG Halls VIII & IX. The team aims to promote multi-cultural and harmonious residential community through activities and residential programs.
Organizing Team (OT), Spring 2017
OT members are scattered evenly on floors to enhance the bonding of residents. Floor activities are held regularly on each floor every 2 to 3 weeks. Previous floor activities include pizza night, dessert and baking night, sweet dumpling night, chocolate & ice-cream fondue night.
The Team also organizes hall activities to cultivate fun, enriching and rewarding residential experience.  Events organized by the team are reputable among residents.  Past activities include Beer Tasting x Glow Paint Party, Haunted House, and Eating, Drinking & Arm Wrestling Competition.

Student activities aside, the Team also provides assistance to various hall affairs, such as hall publication and daily operation.

The Team emphasizes personal growth including the development of leadership skills, communication skills and problem solving skills. With the guidance of Residence Masters, Hall Office and Hall Tutors, members of the Team have gradually evolved into better selves.

To pass on their skills, knowledge as well as sense of belonging, the Team proactively involves residents in the planning and implementation of hall activities. Through time, the Team has gained recognition from the hall community and become a vital stakeholder in the development of residential life at HKUST.

In the coming years, the Organizing Team (OT) will continue to enrich the residential life experience with the following objectives:
  • Emphasizing leadership skill for every resident.
  • Appreciating diversity among cultures and foster an international mix among residents.
  • Connecting residents on floors to cultivate friendship and floor spirit.
  • Helping new residents to achieve personal growth in leadership diversity and teamwork and at the same time having fun.
